Latest commitments in the 2025 cycle: USC loads up, Alabama continues March hot streak
Spring visits are underway, camps are taking place around the country and the coaching carousel has finally slowed. In turn, plenty of prospects in the 2025 cycle are beginning to come off the board after a slow start to the year.
Of the top 300 prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking, 91 are currently committed, as of March 25. That includes just 37 of the top 100 players in the nation. Over 20 recruits have pledged to Power Four programs across the past three days, however.
The USC Trojans charged up the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, while the likes of Alabama and Miami also added to their 2025 classes over the weekend. Here are the latest commitments in the 2025 cycle:
DL Gus Cordova — USC
School: Austin (Texas) Lake Travis
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 438 (No. 40 DL)
Chose USC Over: Texas A&M, Oregon
The Skinny: Cordova became the fourth and final 2025 prospect to commit to USC on Sunday night. He was in Los Angeles over the weekend, and after seeing the momentum that the Trojans picked up on the trail in the span of 24 hours, he decided to add his name to the pledge list.
4-star Safety Hylton Stubbs — USC
School: Jacksonville Mandarin
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 67 (No. 6 SAF)
Chose USC Over: Florida, Miami, Florida State
The Skinny: Stubbs joined in on the USC pledge parade late on Sunday night after visiting the Trojans earlier in the week. It was his second trip to Los Angeles this year, and after getting to spend time with Lincoln Riley — who Stubbs has said was a key reason in his interest in the program — he opted not to wait and pulled the trigger on his pledge.
“My time at USC was pretty awesome,” Stubbs told WeAreSC last week. “The campus had a great vibe and everyone was really welcoming. The football program was even better than I imagined, especially after chatting with Coach Riley. He had some impressive strategies for the team.”
LB Luke Metz — Alabama
School: Dacula (Ga.) Mill Creek
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 425 (No. 47 LB)
Chose Alabama Over: Ole Miss
The Skinny: Metz became the sixth commitment for the Crimson Tide this month, when he announced his pledge on Sunday afternoon. Alabama offered the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder on March 4 and added him to the fold less than a month later. He’s now the third LB in the Tide’s class.
“I’ve always been an Alabama fan,” Metz told On3 upon his commitment. “It’s just different to play for Alabama. It’s always been a dream.”
IOL Byron Washington — Syracuse
School: DeSoto (Texas)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 793 (No. 64 IOL)
Chose Syracuse Over: Texas, TCU, Baylor and others
The Skinny: Washington continued to a hot stretch for Fran Brown and the Orange, as he is now one of five recruits to pledge to Syracuse this month. Checking in at 6-foot-7.5 and 400 pounds, Washington is a true trench monster and an impressive addition for the rising ACC program.
QB Mason Heintschel — Pittsburgh
School: Oregon (Ohio) Clay
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 865 (No. 68 QB)
Chose Pitt Over: Toledo, Ohio, Liberty and others
The Skinny: Heintschel became Pitt’s second addition in the 2025 cycle over the weekend. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder was offered by the Panthers in February, visited for spring practice earlier this month and has now pledged to Pat Narduzzi and Co.
4-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson — USC
School: Warner Robins (Ga.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 37 (No. 2 EDGE)
Chose USC Over: Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma
The Skinny: After taking his first visit to USC over the weekend, Gibson saw all he needed to feel comfortable enough to commit to the Trojans. He became the latest elite recruit from the Peach State to join the fold in LA and helped kick off what was an impressive day on the trail for Riley and his staff.
“The opportunities that USC has on and off the field were big, for sure,” Gibson told On3. “It was my first time in California, and I like that they have my major [business real estate]. I feel like I could thrive inside and outside of football, and it was just the right decision.”
CB Braxton Winston — Wake Forest
School: Charlotte Providence Day
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 866 (No. 74 CB)
Chose Wake Over: South Carolina, Duke, Stanford and others
The Skinny: Dave Clawson added his latest commitment over the weekend in the form of three-star corner Braxton Winston, a 6-foot in-state recruit that bolsters the Demon Deacons’ 2025 class. He’s the firs North Carolina recruit to join the fold and the seventh pledge overall for the ACC program.
5-star DL Justus Terry — Flip to USC
School: Manchester (Ga.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 8 (No. 2 DL)
The Skinny: Terry was pledged to the in-state Georgia Bulldogs for over a year, and his pledge seemed firm, but he still opted to take visits elsewhere. That led to his first visit to USC over the weekend. After a consistent push from Trojans DL coach Eric Henderson and a first taste of LA, news broke of Terry’s major flip on Sunday morning.
“Coming from a small town I wanted to expand my life as much as possible, and I felt like USC is the right place to do that,” Terry told On3. “They have the No. 1 businesses school in the country, and I want to study business entrepreneurship.”
EDGE Jack Limbaugh — Iowa State
School: Algona (Iowa)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 601 (No. 50 EDGE)
Chose Iowa State Over: Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and others
The Skinny: Limbaugh became the third in-state commit and fourth pledge overall for the Cyclones in the 2025 cycle on Saturday. Matt Campbell and the ISU staff offered last summer, remained in pursuit of the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder and beat out other local programs.
4-star RB Girard Pringle — Miami
School: Tampa Armwood
On3 Industry Ranking: No,. 246 (No. 17 RB)
Chose Miami Over: Alabama and Georgia
The Skinny: Pringle made his way to Coral Gables over the weekend — his second visit with the Canes this month. The message from Mario Cristobal and the Miami staff, combined with the family feel he had with the in-state school led him to come off the board and announce his commitment. Pringle is the second highest-ranked pledge in the Miami class.
